Maple Marine Services - Sailing Yacht Pre-Purchase and Condition Surveys

For a sailing boat a large number of items will be inspected for a full survey under the following general headings:

  • Internal outfit
  • Lifesaving appliances
  • Fire fighting and prevention equipment
  • Masts, spars and rigging
  • Sails
  • Engine & Machinery Installations
  • Electrical systems
  • Instrumentation
  • Gas installation
  • Ventilation
  • Fuel installation
  • Freshwater installation
  • Bilge and general pumping installations
  • Toilet installations
  • Davits, boarding ladder, accesses etc.

Visual inspections will be made of the Propulsion Machinery, Auxiliary Machinery, sails, Lifesaving Applicancies, Electronic systems, Electrical, Gas , and all installed systems including navigational aids, stabilisers, water and sewage treatment plants, refrigerators, ice makers, air conditioning plant(s) and sundry services , in position, without dismantling or test.

Masts will be inspected in detail up to head height only, unless the mast has been removed from the craft and can be easily inspected.

The area surrounding the keel will be inspected for evidence of groundings.
